ACLS EP (for Experienced Providers)

The course is designed to improve outcomes in complex cardiovascular, respiratory and other emergencies by expanding on core ACLS guidelines and encouraging critical thinking and decision-making strategies. In order to take the ACLS EP course, students must first pass an online exam to demonstrate their ACLS knowledge. During the course, students receive instruction and participate actively in case-based scenarios covering: cardiovascular emergencies; cerebrovascular emergencies; respiratory and metabolic emergencies; post-cardiac-arrest care; clinical pharmacology and toxicology emergencies; high-quality CPR; and effective resuscitation team dynamics. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive an ACLS EP Provider certification card valid for two years. ACLS EP certification indicates ACLS Provider proficiency so students are not required to take both an ACLS and ACLS EP course. (Note: BLS certification is not included in this course.)
