PALS – Renewal (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Course work contains obligatory AHA lectures and reviews BLS CPR; the identification and treatment of medical conditions contributing to pediatric cardiac arrest; recognition and management of a child in respiratory distress or failure and/or compensated or hypotensive shock; recognition and management of bradyarrhythmia, tachyarrhythmia and arrest rhythms; assessment and treatment of the seriously ill or injured child. Course cost includes the Student Provider Manual, which is shipped to the student upon prepayment. Upon course completion, with a passing score on the written exam and successful completion of the skills evaluations, students receive an AHA PALS Provider certification card valid for two years. (Note: BLS certification is not included in this course.)
